Update: August 19th Public Hearing

Update: August 19th Public Hearing

The Village Trustees reserved decision regarding the pending contract with Crown Castle. They invited further comments from residents on the proposed DAS installations in Matinecock. Following this, a motion was made to close the public hearing.

There will be no more testimony before the Village Trustees on the Right-of-Way Use Agreement with Crown Castle at any subsequent hearings.

MRIT will post the Trustees’ decision regarding the contract, along with their response to our 3 requests (call to action), when we have this information.

Although the public hearing on this issue is closed, we urge residents to contact Village Trustees by phone, email, or by letter, advising them to pass a Telecom Ordinance BEFORE signing the contract with Crown Castle.

This is critical, because without an ordinance, residents will have NO power to monitor Crown Castle’s decisions regarding the installation or on- going safety of these antennas. (see August 8th Letter to the Editor, The Leader)

Time is of the essence, so as a resident of Matinecock, it is imperative that you make your opinion known to the Trustees, as soon as possible.
